Posted by Admin on 25 Oct 2022
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, hence we take it upon ourselves to educate our clients and followers about cancer and how to detect one early to save your life. Breast cancer is the most misunderstood and the early symptoms are mostly missed due to them being deemed normal. There is also a taboo around topics related to the body in our society hence making it even more difficult to detect. Combating The TabooFor the sake of our own health and for the sake of our loved ones, we really need to break the taboo and start healthy discussions around such topics. We can do so by educating people around us and giving them the confidence to talk about issues like breast cancer, and testicular cancer. Talking and raising awareness around these might save a lot of lives. What Is Breast Cancer?Cancer is the abnormal reproduction of cells in an area. Breast cancer is when these cells grow out of control in the breast area. There are many different types of breast cancer depending on the cells. A breast is made up of 3 types of cells. Lobules are the glands that produce milk, ducts are tubes that carry the milk to the nipple, and connective tissue consists of fatty and fibrous tissue that holds everything together. So the abnormal growth of cells in any of these areas can result in breast cancer. Types Of Breast CancerThe following are the most common types of cancer found in breasts:Invasive Ductal CarcinomaCancer begins in the ducts and spreads to the outer tissue. Invasive cancer cells often metastasize to other parts of the body, meaning they travel to other parts of the body.Invasive Lobular CarcinomaThese cancer cells are also metastasized. They begin in the lobules and spread to the surrounding tissues. There are other lesser-known and less common types of cancer that can be detected.Who Can Get Breast Cancer?Women over the age of 50 are more prone to having breast cancer.
